Last year, with stock markets around the world becoming increasingly unstable, I decided it was time to invest more money in the Asian Emerging Markets stock I have invested in for several years. As a small-time investor, but one who lives in an emerging market, Thailand, I know as well as anyone why investing in Asian emerging market stocks could be a good strategy. If you're considering investing in an Asian emerging market stock, here are several reasons why it could be a good idea for you too.

Asia is Booming - I've lived in Asia for almost seven years and can tell you, from first-hand experience, Asia is set to take over the world. I live in Thailand but travel often to Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. All of these countries, plus Vietnam, China, Japan and other Asian countries are going to be booming in the next few years. With Asia accounting for more than 60% of the world's population, and most of those people in China, it only stands to reason countries like the US, the UK and Germany, eventually won't be able to keep up.

Technology in Asia Is Far Ahead of the US - Asians are spending billions of dollars a year on technology and they're inventing much of it too. In Thailand, things like computers and mobile phones are months if not years ahead of the US. When I'm in the US and look at mobile phone shops, it's amazing to me how limited the options are when it comes to buying a phone. In Asia, we get top-of-the-line, innovative electronics as soon as they hit the market, and this is often months before they arrive in America.

Diversification - If you invest in US stocks, you are betting on the economy of just one country. By investing in Asian emerging markets stocks, you have your investment spread out over several companies. Diversification, just by its nature, makes this type of investing much less risky than simply buying stocks in America, especially as the US economy is still extremely shaky.

Asia Will Rise and America Will Fall - Every economist knows this is true. While Americans still believe the US will keep its world-dominance intact, unfortunately, it's simply not reality. As Asia's influence and power increases, so will its economic strength and, therefore, so will Asian emerging market stocks. Simple really. Money will start to move out of America and into Asia, because that's where the best investment opportunities will be and that will also affect America's influence and economic strength.

Good Stock Values - Buying many American stocks now is simply too expensive. Stocks are still overvalued in many cases, and many investors simply can't afford to buy in. Asia, on the other hand, has tons of emerging stock opportunities, with some extremely attractive investment opportunities for hardly any money. Think of Microsoft 20 years ago. They started somewhere and so are the millions of Asian companies that are now on stock markets all over Asia.

US Dollar Not Being Dominant Currency - Many world currencies are tied to the US dollar, so their values go up and down depending on what the US dollar is doing. That's likely to change and could change as fast as this year. When the dollar is no longer the world's dominant currency, another country will step in and, according to many economists, it's very likely to be the Chinese yuan. Plus, China is cash-rich, while the US is in debt. So China will keep buying physical assets in a move to use them as a type of currency - working against the US dollar.

These, and many other reasons, are why more and more investment specialists are now saying Asia is where the best investment opportunities are. Just be careful, if you decide to invest in Asian emerging stock, that you thoroughly vet the investment firm you go through and also the stocks or mutual fund you decide upon.

Learning to make the house Wheelchair available. Very well the first thing to find out may be the top that you'll get.

Ramp by tom$

So let me outline the plot for you. San Francisco is spending over 700,000 dollars of our hard earned taxes on a ramp. Yes, it's not a new building. It's just a ramp for that amount. I didn't realize wheelchair access had gotten so expensive. Oh wait, it hasn't. When I google wheelchair ramps this is the first sponsored result: Wheelchair Ramps 50% Off - Big Ramp Selection Starting at $29. That took me all of five seconds. Now I realize those super cheap ramps are the ugly metal ones that are not built in. (Although you could bolt them down for a few bucks extra) However this goes to show how grossly overpriced this ramp is. The labor costs were over 200,000 dollars. Over 200,000 dollars. I'm repeating it so you can try to picture that amount. San Francisco could have put around 3 needy kids through college with that.

Now I realize this ramp is in the City Hall and they want it to be historically accurate. Okay, fair enough. I'm sure you can find a history professor more than willing to take a few hours to help out. Oops, we can't even do that. We needed to pay people almost 50,000 dollars for that job. I apologize in advance if my writing becomes incoherent, the longer I type the more infuriated with San Francisco I become. Did the city ever identify other options? Did it for a moment consider how it could lower costs? I do not believe so. Why is that? It's not their money.

If local government officials had to pay out of their own pocket for this then they would not be doing this ridiculous ramp. In these tough economic times where our government is broke, why not have a little fiscal responsibility? Buy a temporary ramp for one hundred dollars and focus on things that matter instead. With 700,000 dollars we could help people who truly need it. The part that really gets me is that city officials have claimed they are glad it won't cost over a million dollars like they originally thought. I am ashamed these people were elected.

Stock market crash/ La Borsa crash by juli_modul

Even though the stock market gains over time, right now many people are understandably jittery about the way things are going. While there are bargain hunters out there snapping up cheap stocks, and while it is probably best in the long run to leave your retirement account alone, most people are just looking for safe ways to generate any sort of return. Here are two ways you can get a little bit ahead, even while the market is down:

1. Invest in an emergency fund

It's always a good idea to boost your emergency fund. If you have extra money, put to work for you in the safe area of cash investments. The returns are low (high yielding savings accounts are, on average, between 3.5% and 4% and the highest CDs are offering only 5%), but they are better than what the stock market is offering right now. And any growth is a good thing. Put your emergency fund in the higher yielding cash investments that you can find through online banking offers (ING, Citi and Emigrant are all good choices). You will fare much better than the less than 1% offered at traditional brick and mortar banks. Besides, such investments at least offer some hedge from inflation.

2. Pay down high interest debt

This isn't exactly an investment, but it is a good use of money. If you have credit card debt, a car loan or even a mortgage, you are paying interest at a rate that you cannot overcome in the current market or with cash investments. And now is a great time to pay down debt because the Fed rate is at a low 1.5% and could potentially go even lower. This means that variable rate debt, like home equity lines of credit (HELOCs) and most credit cards, are trending lower in terms of interest charges. More of your money will go to reducing your debt, instead of doing nothing beside pay interest. This is a great chance to pay down principal and free yourself from something that severly limits the growth of your net worth.

Even in a down economy, there are ways to use your money wisely and take advantage of the conditions that we are seeing. In fact, it is especially important that you use your money wisely right now. If you prepare for the future by shoring up your emergency fund and paying down debt, you will have less to fear from the future.

Common Options trading Techniques

Home stock trading setup by Lars Plougmann

One can buy shares, or a piece of a company. Shares give people the right to vote in elections of a company. In essence, buying shares of a company, called a stock, gives one the ability to control the operations of said company. Most importantly, periodically, elections can replace a current CEO with a newly elected one who may run the company differently from his predecessor. In addition to voting rights, one has a claim on a portion of the company's assets and earnings.

To participate in stock trading, or the buying and selling of shares, one must use a broker. A broker is simply a company that works between shareowners, also called shareholders, to complete transactions. Some brokers will charge a fee for buying or selling a stock. One may participate in the buying or selling of stock only during particular times and days of the week. The market has "on-hours" or the normal hours of operation and "off-hours." Normally, orders are placed at a broker during the day and completed either immediately or later in the day. One may place orders when the market is closed, but the order will not be dealt with until the market opens again. One may only participate in off-hour trading if they meet special requirements and use certain brokers.

Several types of orders exist including market, and limit. A market order executes an order immediately, at the current stock price. One cannot predict the order execution price, but the price will likely match or come close to the current listed price. Market orders only guarantee execution. Limit orders on the other hand set a maximum amount of money one is willing to buy a stock or the minimum amount one will sell their stocks. A limit order only guarantees price, and the order might not execute. The downside to a market order is uncertainty of stock price, creating risk. Always use limit orders unless you don't care about price and absolutely must execute an order.

Lastly, people invest in the stock market because of the potential profits. One can potentially earn more money on a stock than investing the exact amount in a bank account earning a modest interest. Participating in the stock market has many risks and perks. The major risk includes losing all money invested. Therefore, never invest money you cannot afford to lose. The perks include modest profits to huge ones. Some of the richest people in the world have become rich because they have mastered their trading skills in the stock market.

Basic Safety Suggestions For Repairing Home Appliances Appliance Repair Products and services For Your Each Appliances

Appliances Repair in Boise by guitarman56

We've been having some refrigerator issues lately. I've had two repairmen tackle the problem. The first scratched his head for half an hour and rounded out his time telling me about his back spasms. He left telling me I should vacuum behind there occasionally. The second guy replaced the mother board (Even refrigerators have mother boards now. Can you believe it?) in seven minutes and spent the remainder of his time laughing at the first guy charging me for doing nothing.

Last week the good ol' side by side started leaking water on the floor. The sister put on her appliance repair hat and strapped on her tool belt. She makes me nervous when she does this, but I got on the computer, for research purposes. We argue a lot while trying to fix things, and this time was no different. She got pissed when I challenged her chipping ice build-up with a hammer, and I flipped her off when she called me a know-it-all do-nothing. We compromised and decided to wipe up the puddle every two of three days and wait for a real disaster.

Well, the disaster happened this morning. The "puddle" became a stream. Of course no repairman would be available on Memorial Day weekend, so we jumped into disaster mode. The sister joyously strapped on her tool belt, and I reluctantly got on the computer. As I was analyzing the problem, the sister was emptying the freezer, hammering ice, and looking at stuff. Things all came together as I was shouting the suggested resolution to her and she said, "Drain? Wait. I see a drain. Hmmm. Nope. I don't think it's the drain"

I read the Q&As which applied exactly to our problem, while she took a repairman's break. I could tell she was purposely humoring me, so I got up and examined the drain thing myself. She gets a little cocky when I think she's wrong, or when I question her methods. I innocently asked her to find something we could shove onto the drain just to find out if it was clogged, and she said, "Why don't you shove that computer in there."

I was in no mood to fight with her, but she started it. We had gone a round or two when the nephew walks in. He took his usual seat, kicked back, and evaluated the situation.

"I've got a big white pan you could shove under there to catch the water. Cosmetically, it might not match your décor, but it'll do the trick." I was pretty sure he was joking, but he should know by now that the sister takes everything he says as gospel. The sister pondered this for a moment and said, "That's not a bad idea."

Is it any wonder these people make me crazy? These are the same two rednecks who propped up the corner of the old deck with a mop. Sheesh. I won't even mention what the gutter on the garage used to be attached with, but I will say the shed has held up well, considering duct tape is holding the lower back panel on.

So, I carefully chipped the ice around the drain, cleaned it, dried the area and reloaded the freezer. It's dry, the all three dispensers are working, and beyond that, I could care less. I told the two Bob-the Builders we're calling a licensed honest-to-God repairman if it leaks again. I think the sister was a bit disappointed that she never got a chance to use her tool belt, but last time I saw her she was headed for the bathroom. She's been talking about leveling out the dryer. She temporarily "fixed" it a few months ago with some Styrofoam and a 2x4. I thanked the nephew for his advice and told him to save his big white pan for when his refrigerator starts leaking. He said, "Yeah, right. I'm not doing anything like that in my house. What are you, nuts?"

Uh, oh. Gotta go. Someone's messin' with the crushed ice button.
